Unbeknownst to those living outside the horse world, there’s a huge event underway in Lexington, Kentucky. New hotels have been built, roads improved and stadiums erected for the World Equestrian Games — a 16-day event that rivals the Olympics for horse sports.
Like similar competitions this size, traffic is a nightmare, parking is practically across state lines, and food on the grounds will cost you your first child. But the competition is fantastic.
