The Good Life

Charles M. Schulz is credited with saying, “Happiness is a warm puppy.”

And that’s true. From the human perspective.

Consider the puppy’s point of view.

Happiness is a fresh deer leg.

A couple days ago I spied my neighbor’s terrier, carting a deer limb as he exited the woods. The dog strutted along, his stumpy tail wagging side to side. Then he collapsed in a sunny spot on the lawn and proceeded to chow down. Yum!

I know… there’s a bit of an ick factor here.

But that grisly discovery made this dog’s day.

And if you’d prefer, consider this scene as another rendition of the “reduce, reuse, recycle” program.
